Ex-prisoners of UK Reddit, who was the most high profile prisoner you met, and what were they like?

Not an ex prisoner myself, however, i did strike up a regular correspondence with Ian Brady, the Moors Muderer. To answer your question Brady was nothing like what i had pictured in my mind. He wasnt crazy, he was VERY self aware, he had a very good memory and could recall events from as far back as his teenage years. I never actually met Ian Brady as he had stopped people visiting him back in the 90s but i would go as far as to say we had a good enough understanding of each other, it wasnt me asking all the questions he would ask me things too.

I was abit taken back by how articulate and intelligent he was , he wasnt foaming at the mouth wanting to kill people. Brady was intellectually gifted and that sent chills all over my body. He was not at all like what people expect someone like that to be like.
