EXCLUSIVE: Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to buy a stake in Manchester United, with a view to taking full control if the Glazers welcome new investment

The Glazers already seem keen on outside investment. Quite frankly, this idea that they can sell a minority stake, keep taking dividends and let other investors spend the several billion required on the club is a pipe dream.

They got lucky once riding roughshod over a weak government and FA with the leveraged takeover. Billionaires and ultra wealthy consortiums aren't that naive allowing the Glazers to railroad them into a bad deal. Either they step aside and cede control or they can forget about third party investment.

They'll be on the hook for the massive investment United needs in the next decade or so if noone bites on their bad terms.
