Executive course hole in one. “Real hole in one?”

I don’t believe it does. Executive courses aren’t eligible for a handicap, and it’s not a sanctioned course by PGA standards.

There is a difference between a 2 foot chip into a hole I dug in my backyard, and a hio on a par 72 course. The line between what “counts” and what doesn’t has to be somewhere, and I’d say that line is PGA standards. I understand that executive courses feel like real golf, but that doesn’t mean it is.

It’s not about distance. My local driving range has flags and holes, and if I hit a 200 yard shot that went in, I wouldn’t count that.

It’s not about format. Mini golf also has the format of real golf, but those obviously don’t count either.

Until someone can explain why it would count, I don’t see any reason to count it as a legitimate hio.
