Experian Site Can Give Anyone Your Credit Freeze PIN

I was a senior IT person for a global investment bank. They treated us like absolute garbage but it is the same at any enterprise level company. The way IT are abused and terrorized with cuts, it's a matter of time before someone pulls a Mr. Robot. If I wanted to, I could have shut down their main homepage, their retail investment platform, their high net worth individual trading and marketing platforms, their broker-initiated trading platform, their retail marketing portal and entire marketing email system, collapsed all middleware, and also the system based on their technology that was leased to banks across America. I could have destroyed SQL clusters with a few clicks, destroyed their DNS configuration and backup and their load balancing infrastructure and backups and basically put them on the front page of the NYT in 10 careful minutes. Yes, there are backups, but we're talking absolute carnage for 10s of millions of accounts. It would take a week or two to rebuild the platforms from scratch and another week to test it and another week to work out the bugs in Prod with the new servers and then repeat that for other data centers. The dirty secret of enterprise IT is they have almost zero tolerance for mistakes so even though we have tons of amazing technology, a lot of stuff is still done the old fashioned way. Everything was built-out manually. Nobody trusted images. Take out all the data centers at once and you could do the type of damage to the banking system that nobody has seen before. The reason this never happens is the people who work in IT at these big companies have Stockholm Syndrome.
