Experienced Teachers - Why Always be so Negative?

It’s not just because they’d old/experienced; there are fantastical positive older/experienced teachers. The positive ones focus on the kids and not on finding newbies to aid their grievances to. First, don’t let people start with because of those people will return to your room all year because they think you’ll listen to their BS willingly. Second, you may have to placated them with a listen ear and understanding, but don’t engaged when you feel that what they’re saying is ridiculous, unprofessional, or uncomfortable. Three, find positive friends around the building. You don’t need to be formerly with everyone, but even one supportive person (age honestly doesn’t matter like you think it does) that can be a big help. Lastly, remember that you are your own teacher, and you are not other teachers. Basic, but just because kids are treating a certain teacher one way does not mean they will have the same situation with you. More often than not, kids will act wildly different in different as, periods, and times of the day for many reasons. You control what happens in your room, and everything else is just noise.
