Experiences adopting from Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS)?

so happy to hear it!! and i’m so sorry for what your friend went through….august-october had a couple of nightmarish outbreaks of kennel cough that i shudder thinking about. i can’t remember exactly when but there was a period of a couple weeks when basically every dog got sick and many got very ill very quickly w something that didn’t respond to antibiotics. one of my “project dogs” (i worked in behavior) developed pneumonia and the vet team kept him hospitalized for 2 weeks but he just couldn’t fight it off…wasn’t the first or the last. the piece i spoke to the oregonian for just came out today if you want to learn more about what’s going on (to my chagrin she didn’t include my repeated stressing that the vet team don’t leave meds in kennels out of apathy but because they have like 2 techs on a good day and insane demands….i never saw any of them take a lunch or leave less than two hours after their shift supposedly ended). ultimately leadership has created and refused to address the conditions and the reason they cannot retain staff (surprise it’s them!)
