OK, maybe I am just really bad at explaining this, so I will lay it out differently:

Race is being used as a distraction. "Distraction" does not mean that we should ignore it in favor of class, but that race is being used to saturate many people's cognitive load (tolerance) for politics to the point where class is a peripheral issue to them. (Ex. So many "culture war" issues being touted about so people are too busy with such things to focus on other political issues.)

Obviously both need to be dismantled. Dismantling class also comes with dismantling racism. You cannot only do one or the other and succeed. This is obvious. My point is that one is used to keep people from focusing on the other when both are legitimate problems.
