Expressing your emotions 100% of the time is far more damaging to you than keeping them bottled up.

The importance of taking the time to process and understand your emotions is extremely underplayed. The amount of people that are complete raw nerves and can’t contain their emotions / opinions / reactions is crazy.

Yeah, there’s people who bottle up an emotion and never think about it again. But people who choose not to immediately express a sudden emotion, and take the time to actually think about it and the appropriate behaviour going forwards, are not the same whatsoever as bottling shit up.

What’s more frustrating about this is that none of these people pressuring you to never conceal your emotions seem to know that. Probably because they’re also emotionally stunted in some way themselves
