I'm quite derisive or the datasets claiming its exceptional.

In the same way I'm derisive of all the "record breaking temperatures" which occur at Heathrow, and their clear parables to some guy in Oxford holding a thermometer in 1920.

Or the fact the effect of the urban heat island is always just completely glossed over as we declare climate change is increasing rainfall as our cities literally hit double the population of 40 years ago. This stuff is just basically never controlled for.

To be clear. Not saying its not happening. Just that I think the field in general is far to reliant on inaccurate and sparse historic sources and just sort of ignores other known affects.
