Its difficult to measure the intentions of a homicide suspect, but we can assume the majority of homicides are impulsive. An impulsive murder is not committed out of careful, rational analysis but out of pure emotion, hence the term crime of passion. Those who committ crimes of passion are also more likely to be cognitively impaired, suggesting a correlation between intellengence and being emotional.

What separates humans from animals is self mastery. Self mastery is the ability to overcome our instincts and desires. Having emotions makes you less moral and less human than a rational person.
