Extremely Unpopular Bond Opinions Thread (June 2016)

Welp, here we go then, you asked for it.

While I can understand people personally not wanting a black/gay/female Bond for a whole plethora of reasons (Seriously. I'm saying this as someone who is anti-making Bond a woman. I get your reasons, because a lot of them are mine), I think most of the people who express as much act just like the completely irrational, hysterical "SJW's" they so often bash in the process.

It's embarrassing to see comments like "Fuck James Bond being anything other than a white guy" with a bunch of upvotes.

And it's equally sad when people make comments like "being hetrosexual, male and white are what make James Bond, James Bond."

Those things aren't personality traits. You're doing a disservice to the character.

It's completely fine if you don't want Bond to be anything else. I get it. In fact, I agree, to an extent. But shutting down conversation is pointless, and getting worked up and insulting others over them excitedly making fancasts, or for hoping that they'll also one day be able to see themselves in this character we all love, is frankly, rude and counter productive.

Try opening your mind a little and maybe even get on board with the fun that comes with imagining what a female Bond would be like. It's not like it's actually going to happen anyway. Stop jumping down people's throats. I mean, Christ, people weren't this douchey when an American Bond was being thrown about, and that infringes way more on what the character is 'supposed' to be than being a bisexual black British man would. But that's none of my business.

And no, I don't care if you saw a SJW or Feminist call people who don't want a female Bond 'sexist'. I haven't seen half as much of this kind of nonsense from 'the other side' as I've seen here, and in other Bond fan areas, and even if I had, who cares? That's the literal equivalent of whining "but they started it!", you complete and utter children.

Behaving the way a lot of people here have been doesn't make you look like you're passionate about Bond, it makes you look like a dick.

/end rant.

Anyway, I feel better now. :)
