F*ck.

The trend we are seeing right now comes directly from the removal of the reroll comp like Shredder and Candyland or even Cait Snipers.

With this, it was a balance between saccing early to try and find Jinx/Irelia or to go for an early game comp to try and win streak through first 4 stages the best you could. As much as people ranted about those comp when they were playable, they were actually quite healthy for the game (at least right before Squid was the only comp playable at the end).

Now, there's nothing to punish you for going fast 8. I've seen way too many people having 0 gold at krugs and be Level 6 with a terrible board, just in the hope to get the first crack at jinx. level 6 at krugs was unthinkable in set 3. Having 0 gold and a 1 star board at 3-3 should be punishable. But it isn't right now.

Another thing are lacking right now is celestial. It's completely unplayable right now since Kassadin got removed. It killed Space Jam completely. It would also be a way to help against jinx and rebels.

Set 3.5, in my personal opinion, is a complete disaster. Low mana units like Teemo or Cass are literally impossible to balance. Either they constantly cast, or they are not useful. Astro is pretty much a failure. Battlecast is okay with the new BC6 buffs, but overall, pretty useless. Janna is cute but overall not really good. Mech is great but the units are worthless after they get out.

There is so much that needs to change. I love TFT, but right now, it's just a hard kekw if I could say so.
