Yes, consider that many people who work in slaughterhouses and on factory farms still eat meat. I used to work at a pork processing/meat packing place. I know pigs are smarter than dogs, and I could hear them screaming. Sometimes I had to go service the computers on the slaughterhouse floor (they're in hermetically sealed enclosures because blood gets everywhere). But fuckem, bacon is delicious. I've seen how sausage gets made too, still eat it. IDK, just don't really understand the mindset - it seems naive to me. Did you think before that these animals had great lives and they were gently put to sleep while being read their favorite bedtime stories? Nope, we shock the shit out of them, hang them up, and slit their throats.
