There is no evidence that saturated fat causes heart disease. Experts from American College of Cardiology have concluded that dietary saturated fat doesn't causes heart disease. In the same study, experts said that saturated fat has protective effects against stroke:

Today, we have much better understanding on the human biology than we did in 1960s. There is no evidence that consumption of saturated causes heart disease and diabetes. In fact, dietary saturated has protective effects against stroke.
