FAA proposes more than $500,000 in new fines against unruly airline passengers

Yeah it seems like if they really wanted to fix the problem not just cash in on it, an occasional ad warning if you're an unruly passenger you will be arrested, fined $45,000, plus all your court fees, would go a long way to stopping most of this behavior.

Maybe I'm just cynical but seems like they feel pretty confident no one is sneaking a weapon that could damage the plane on board, so they crew and passengers can just subdue assholes and they can make money.

The other passengers typically doing the heavy lifting of subduing the person, probably just get a gift certificate to Hudson News or some crap, maybe some free miles that never seem to be available, working off what I know from stand-up comedian's routines.
