Also for those that know very little of the service, one of the guys who started it up did so because a guy he cared for as a social worker killed himself. Working in child mental health, he first met the guy when he was a child in foster care. The kid said that like all the rest he'd get a better job and leave him... The kid was right a year later. Though while working with him, he seen that none of the social workers had even cared to write anything substantial about the kid.
That kid grew up, joined the army... Probably hoping to find somewhere to belong and then the abuse started. Eventually that abuse lead him to leave the army and hang himself feeling no one cared.
Lifeline was set up on the basis of giving someone a place they could turn to when everything went dark.
