Dude even the "academic" social platforms and subreddits directly dealing with COVID were/are infected with anti-mask nonsense.

This is me trying, and failing, to convince people in simple terms how a mask is effective.. all the way back in may and being called a child for it.

Now look at the top comments in post.

My eye twitches a bunch now and I feel like I failed in communicating and people died because of it. It should have been easier to explain that filters work to filter things and that 70% filtration is better than 0%. I assume bad actor influence was a major part of maintaining ignorance to amplify the damage done.
