Facebook let a Russian company with ties to the Kremlin mine data from its users

Well my password for the account was more than 8 characters with numbers and letters. I also change my passwords on most of my accounts approx once every 6ish months and I typically do not use duplicates. Also I wouldnt say the account was hacked because nothing happened to it whilst active but it was after it was deactivated when the account was taken. I highly dont agree with the assumption someone had my information and was just waiting for me to delete my account to use it as their own (what do you gain from that?) And the person who had taken it didnt change any of the account information as I was able to log right into the account post deactivation and saw it was some russian chick. So like I said in my original post, it was the same email and password to get back on it just everything had been changed to russian and it was all pictures of this russian chick. Again not sure how removing an account through the proper channels is careless and getting "pwned"
