The faces of brave Kurdish women fighters who have fought ISIS

In addition to my previous comment,

What this operation is really about?

What Erdogan aims to achieve with this operation has nothing to do with Kurds. The Turkish government is simply using the conflict with PKK and hostility towards Kurds in Turkey to create support for a meaningless war in the middle of a financial crisis. What he is planning to achieve is to create a Sunni-Muslim tampon state in Syria to oppose Bashar Al-Assad, which is the reason he was involved in the Syrian Civil War in the first place. This "stopping terrorism" narrative is a false one. A government that arms Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and doesn't even have the decency to deny it, doesn't care about stopping terrorism.

Will it benefit Turkey?

Nope. Syria and Iran are against this operation. And with US gone, there is no reason for Kurds to not align with Russia and Bashar Al-Assad. As we speak, Russian and Syrian forces are moving in Kurdish controlled areas. Soon Turkish forces will be fighting a four-way war with SDF, Assad, Syria and Iran. A lot of Turkish soldiers will die in a meaningless war in a foreign country and Turkish economy is going to take another hit. Due to Erdogan's policies alienating U.S. and NATO, there are talks of kicking Turkey out of NATO and even creating a Kurdish state.
