Facets, Pascal Campion, Digital, 2017

the two people are not even with one another in the picture.

Is it not meant to be interpreted as romantic though? Not to be heteronormative but they're opposite sex, the same age, etc. Do you think the reading would be the same if it were an 80 year old man black man and an 8 year old Chinese boy? My point is they don't need to be making out for this artwork to have romantic encodings.

I don't mean to be a dick, I'm just not sure why my comment got so much 'projecting'/'nice guy' backlash. I don't want to be precocious (mostly because I'm not entirely sure what that word means) but in reality I have similar hair and body type - though much, MUCH paler - to the girl in the artwork. I definitely don't consider myself a 10, though I was being hyperbolic when I described the girl in the artwork as a 10 too. Idk where I'm going with this because I've had a few beers, but really all I was trying to do was start a discussion on beauty standards in r/art so I'm a little baffled on how my comment dropped from 25 to -2, and why exactly you saw it as me projecting?
