I find that while this can be true, the job itself can cause a high turnover rate because people don't know what they are signing up for.
For example, I used to work security. The main job was standing in a single spot checking IDs to make sure only authorized people are coming in. We CONSTANTLY had employees leaving after 4-6 months on the job, not because of bad treatment, but because they were crazy bored after standing in that same spot everyday essentially just watching people.
Everyone (that I knew at least) who left all said something along the lines of "sweet get paid to do next to nothing". And they all went bonkers because of it.
