Do realize starting off as a local cop, correctional officer, or probation officer is a good route to help beef up your resume to help obtain these 1811 positions. I personally started local, then went state, and finally went federal. It helped me in so many ways. With that being said, I do see guys straight out of college land special agent careers with the feds. I never had that kind of luck, so I started local.
