Fake eyelashes are ugly af

women here

personally i think fake eyelashes should be limited to:

-people over 15 (in any case)

-people with short/blonde lashes

-or for formal events

but never, ever should you wear those goddamn bat wings unless it's for like.. a very specific cosplay. it's extremely fake and deceiving, and people shouldn't put all their confidence into a full face of makeup.

i LOVE makeup. but I try to keep it "natural" for the most part, which isn't really natural but definitely is compared to most people nowadays.

it's ok to hide your blemishes. it's ok to hide your acne. it's ok to hide a few of your freckles (though imo freckles are adorable.) it's ok to hide scars. it's ok to hide a few minor insecurities, it's understandable and what the point of makeup is in the first place

it is NOT ok to hide your face. most people who wear pounds and pounds of makeup topped with a huge pair of fake lashes that cover their whole lid i cant even recognize when they take it off, and that should never ever be the case. you're just putting yourself through hours and hours of maintenance every day saying its "just for confidence" even though you're truly damaging yourself because you're constantly hiding behind a mask instead of just adjusting your flaws.

for the under 15 thing, kids that age just really should not be trying to impress anyone with anything "fake" or artificial. self expression is important, but makeup in general can be very "adult" when not used in moderation. especially fake lashes

lastly, if you hide behind these things so severely, most men and people will be extremely surprised when you don't look like what you do with your makeup on. it can attract extremely abusive partners because they're so attracted to "fake" and can't appreciate the real. it can lead to a lot of break ups and ended friendships because people feel lied to.

use makeup in moderation is my advice, and use it as a re-touch tool, not a mask to hide behind.
