Family deciding whether to send nephew to british international school or chinese school. Any thoughts?

Currently go to an International School here (British). Will not identify which one. 18(m) -

If you can swallow the price tag, I would definitely suggest going to an an International School here. Should note that the British system is very, very unforgiving in terms of curricula. I doubt it's as bad as a Chinese school, but still killer.

There are more and more local students joining. We just had 5 local students come in from Chinese schools who got full scholarships to study for their A-Levels...they ended up getting near perfect scores in their first year and the majority of them are going to Singapore...They are widely accepted and valued by the community.

I should note that International Schools can be rather cliquey as many of them have been together for more than a decade. I will also acknowledge that the international school mentality is still very present in these children, many of them grow up without a wider view of whats happening in our country because they're being protected by their parents...But it really depends. Many of them are very politically connected, and can easily discuss Malaysian politics. I can't comment on Int Schools vs Chinese schools as I can only speak for international schools.

Happy to answer questions...
