Family faces $450 a week jump in homeloan payments

Can confirm mine tried also (and even the bank).

Locked in 2.89% for 5 years in 2021. My rationale: 1. lowest 5 year rate in not just mine, but also my parents lifetime. 2. If they went lower sure I would lose out, but not by much. 3. Money printer went brrrrr worldwide and china was going to have to push through COVID at some point (gumming up supply chains). And 4. I was planning on having kids (like the article family), so needed the security of knowing I could afford payments when going through that period.

Seems like this family simply overstretched themselves. Racking up credit card debt and buying a new vehicle whilst you have almost a million dollar noose over your head… I clearly have a low risk tolerance because I would have been sweating bullets.
