Family of late New Mexico lineman sues former coach, school

There is no way I would want to put a physically healthy guy in an injured routine

That’s the issue though. We don’t take mental illness seriously enough and guys are considered weak when they have struggles. It’s a huge stigma. Kevin Love helped the sports world a ton when he went public with his issues. Guys shouldn’t be afraid to step forward and ask for help. And, in this case, they found out Nahje had CTE so his brain was literally deteriorating. Obviously there’s no cure for CTE but being made to play when you’re in crisis mode just makes matters worse. Physically healthy doesn’t mean totally healthy. I’m sure you’re a proponent of supporting those with mental health struggles since so many service men and women suffer from depression/PTSD/etc

Having said all that, none of us know all the details so who knows what the coach said/did or what was medically advisable. Just a shitty situation all the way around.
