In my opinion, both Parties involved have made mistakes that both should be sorry for. Dan obviously overreacted, he should have dealt with this discreetly and not tried to rile up other people and cause a debate. However, I say that the response to his 'outburst' has been somewhat...mixed.

Obviously I can see that many people are butting heads on the topic. However from what I have read on this subject, nearly any comment in support of Dan has been quickly removed and the person banned from the subreddit.

They are Words. Albeit words that have been used to demoralize and harm people. But to say that you have been seriously offended by the use of the Word 'Bitch' or 'Retard' is, in my opinion, doubtful.

It seems a lot of People are looking at popular people, whether on the Internet or in the outside world and waiting for them to slip up. To say something that they can use to rile up People or to annoy the fanbase of that person.

No-one truly owns a word, there are really no gender-specific word. To say that 'Bitch' is a gendered slur is idiotic. Its used to categorise the gender of a specific range of Animal. It has just been adopted and the meaning of the word has been manipulated to be used informally.

Also can you really judge someone from the Internet? Behind that screen you don't know Dan's private life, or mine. From the letter sent, the Person presumes a characteristic of Dan. But Dan has said many times that the Nerdcubed Character is an exaggerated version of himself. So you are basing your opinions of a Man and his comments based on a Character.

This will be probably downvoted, removed and myself will be Banned. But honestly I don't mind. It seems that many people on this Subreddit are toxic and any difference of opinion is destroyed.
