I'm a manipulator, and here's an ability that I thought would suit me!
Heart Quake: I'm able to force an individual to wholeheartedly empathize with me for two hours, during which the victim maintains a normal sense of self. Their emotions will be tethered to mine without them knowing. * i.e. if I'm angry at a duck, the target will want to act aggressively towards the duck * i.e. If I want myself to succeed, the target will want to help me succeed. * Great for getting people to agree to something, or awakening a change of heart. * This ability clouds reasoning and confuses opponents, but I have absolutely no control over how they choose to react to these emotions. If I find that they aren’t cooperating the way I planned, I can use Empath’s Phonebook (see below) to evoke stronger emotions and achieve desired results. * The emotions caused by Heart Quake will stay with the victim until the victim “gets over it”, but they don’t snap out of the emotion when Heart Quake ends. Conditions: I have to explain to the target what I think the reasoning is behind their actions, and then ask “Does any of this sound right?”, “Does that sound like you?” or “Am I getting any of this right?”, and if the victim agrees in any way, Heart Quake is activated without the victim’s knowledge. The better the understanding of their motives, the stronger the connection!
Empath’s Phonebook: I'm able to call upon a mental catalogue of stored emotions that can be inflicted upon myself. * Can be used in tandem with Heart Quake to induce a variety of emotions in a target. * Can be used to pass lie-detection tests, to charm others, or just as a chill pill Conditions: To catalogue an emotion, I have to be genuinely and currently be feeling it, and record the date and time it occurred on a rotary card. To recall an emotion, the rotary card must be placed in a rotary card file at home, and I have to recall the date and time. The location of the file is irrelevant; it’s the location of the rotary cards that matters
I'm using this ability for one of my OC's in the upcoming Hunters x Dragons events; it'll be interesting to see it in action!
