Fans Rally For A Remastered 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2'

Agreed. I LOVED COD4:MW. I put 100s of hours into it. It was extremely well balanced. It was more about skill than a weapon that you grinded away to get and made you really powerful.

With MW1, you could pick the game up at level 1 and take on a top level fairly well. You played on skill. Leveling only helped very little and was more about bragging rights than anything. Perks were the exact same, and just because you were on a kill streak it didn't continue to make you unstoppable and continue to make your enemies pinned down. It gave you a few seconds of extra power, then right back to the same level of everyone else. It was just enough to make or break a close match. It wasn't the goal to just get tons of kills simply to get perks to win the match completely through perks.

Also, the weaponry was relatively "real" and not over the top. It was along the line of Day of Defeat's fun arcade-like fun, but with a little bit of difficulty that was balanced with the right amount of arcade realism so that it was very easy to just chill and go pick up for a few rounds casually.

MW2, it turned into "perk warfare." It was obnoxious. It tried too hard to have elements of Team Fortress with the crap like turrets and shit. There was too much going on, almost like more of a strategy game with micromanagement. Not to mention, the weaponry was over the top stupid (fucking turrets). It was all too often a guy would get an initial leg up and go off on kill streaks and end the match way too unbalanced with shit tons of kills largely from perks.

Not to mention, the whole shooting up the airport pissed me off in single player. I was pissed as fuck when Medal of Honor got banned from military exchanges (stores) because it was "too real" and "thoughtless" and "offensive", but a game that had a mission requiring you to shoot up an airport of civilians as a terrorist with a fully automatic weapon wasn't a problem? OH, not a problem - you can skip it if you want.

ANYWAYS, COD4:MW was great. It's one of my favorites. MW2 killed it for me. Though COD:AW somewhat brought the franchise back for me recently. It doesn't take itself seriously, it's clearly not real, and the single player was pretty cool with Kevin Spacey.

tl;dr: Do a remastered COD4, not MW2. Actually, do a remastered MoH:AA, one of the best games ever. Tip: Don't play it again today if you did in the past. The graphics are buttfucking awful when you look today, and it'll take a bunch of the magic away. It can be a game that greatly benefits from a modern remake/remaster.
