Totally agree. My brother lives for his job, gives him so much purpose. He actually is paid min wage but can barely work any hours or he loses benefits too much. I pay for a lot of his living expenses so that he can continue to work and get some SSI. If he were given more hours for less pay, it would be acceptable to us. He does not need an aide or anything anymore because he has memorized his tasks for years, and loves seeing his favorite customers and taking the free bus to work (small town). During Covid, his boss was so worried about him getting sick but my brother was terrified of losing his job. His boss continued to pay him to stay home for seven months until the entire team was vaccinated (as is my brother). They all “did it for [brothers name]”.
