The dictionary is a rough tool for sure. I'm guessing you think I'm trying to defend the american right and I'm not. I'll copy a response I've already given below. In the meantime though, if I'm wrong and you have evidence from political scientists, historians, and political theorists that fascism is purely limited to the economic right, or more specifically the republican party, I'm happy to read it and change my opinion if it's compelling.

I 100% agree it doesn't sound like the current American left, I didn't accuse the Democratic party of anything. I also never endorsed the right, nor did I ever mean to imply endorsement. I think fascism is probably THE most dangerous thing to a democracy and to liberty, and as such I would condemn anybody leading down that road (to include Trump and any Republicans who allow his fascism to continue).

My point is only that Trump, and the republican party, are relatively temporary in the life of the US much less humanity, but the idea of fascism is dangerous no matter what. To imagine that if we could magically remove the republicans and trump from office, and then say "fascism is defeated!" Is dangerous. It is something liberty-loving people will always need to be on the watch for.
