Is fasting dangerous?

I've read about Jains and some christians who have done 1 or 2 wk fasts several times a year and some others that i don't remember right now. thank u for the information about the medical problems. i didn't know that. i do have fatigue and some head rush, but otherwise not much else. i understand it can be dangerous, but my health is otherwise very good, so i just wanted check that i won't die in my sleep or something lol, which is why i was asking. i do plan to stop soon, as i like food way too much. actually i just wanted to be a little lighter weight so i can enjoy eating this summer without worrying that i won't be able to fit into my pants anymore. covid really threw my healthy eating habits out of whack as i used to go to the gym 3-4 times per week and do intermittent fasting. I just wanted to get back to a more normal place for me quickly without waiting weeks
