I started taking an SSRI in June, prior to I had completed a couple of 5 day fasts and found frequent 72 hour fasts easy and my weight had been in a healthy range.

Now though I can't seem to go past 48 hours and my weight is on a constant upwards trend suddenly after 6 months of being on fluoxetine moving me into the overweight category. My doctor has said that fluoxetine is weight neautral but I disagree - I am eating and exercising the same and yet each day I'm gaining. On 48 hour fasts I drop a little but the results are less than earlier in the year.

I have decided to taper off completely over the next two weeks to see if it makes any difference in my efforts to lose weight and complete an extended fast before the year is up.
