Fate Core/FAE Challenge: Fractals of the Week #1

Peaceful Valley Village

*Just down the hill from the deep woods

*Roving packs of tiger-wolves

*Eat bunny-deer and keep their population in check

*Afraid of fire

*Love to eat livestock, but afraid of humans

*Magically useful for stealth and heightened senses

*Full of adorable bunny-deer

*Eat everything green

*Multiply like... well, you know

*Magically useful for cuteness and jumping

*One or two house-sized bull-dragons

*Fire-breathing apex predator

*Hate other bull-dragons and are aggressively territorial

*Scales as strong as iron

*Hibernate for months at a time

*Magically useful for their strength

*Has a few rare and beautiful magic flowers

*You could stare at these things for hours

*Dryads get really ticked when anything that's not a forest animal takes it

*Magically useful for illusions

*A few dryads tend the forest

*Happy to give tours and educate people

*They have trouble agreeing with each other and generally don't get along

*Hate when people harm forest plants

*As magical as you would expect a dryad to be

*Magically useful for youth (getting at the necessary heartwood/sap components is generally lethal)

*Many townsfolk are retired adventurers

*The town is protected by two of the prince's knights

*Sworn to obey the prince until their dying breath

*They're old but very experienced

*They both possess a piece of the royal regalia, moderately powerful magical artifacts

*Doomed to die far from home

*Grows and exports the humble hybrid corn-beans

*Corn-beans require steady irrigation and are sensitive to toxins

*Almost all monsters LOVE corn-beans (except for harmless monsters, go figure)

*The steady supply of corn-beans feeds the Emperor's nation

*Holds frequent festivals throughout the year

Down the road from the Castle of Prince Gravis

*Vampire prince

*Vampires helped humanity through the Age Of Night and are now default royalty

*The Emperor uses magically binding mandates to keep his princes on a very tight leash

*Vampires will starve to death without humanity, but want to maintain power

*The princes tend to be hands-off, and usually make their presence known through their loyal (possibly geased) knights

*Vampires have different weaknesses than you would expect

*Sunlight still turns them to dust, but the princes can use Age Of Lightning tech to switch the sun on and off so it's not a big deal

*They are repelled by all commercial symbols and logos of the Age Of Lightning

*A vampire must obey the letter of any order given by its sire

*Vampires have extreme personalities, and are usually frozen in the emotional state they had when they died

*Vampires can only survive on the blood of humans

*Gravis only tolerates humans because he has been ordered not to be a tyrant

*Gravis will give an audience to anyone who offers a pint of blood (moderate consequence)

*Gravis became a vampire in the Age Of Lightning, and is perpetually bored because he really misses the Internet
