Fates: was the story as bad as people say? Part 9: Hidden Truths

I think Hidden Truths' biggest flaw is that for a DLC centered around Anankos and Valla, it doesn't connect them to the rest of Fateslandia.

So Anankos' backstory is that he granted the people of Valla his powers and blessings but when he started to succumb to madness those same people turned against him, makes sense so far. By the time the main story takes place Anankos has destroyed Valla and killed all of its inhabitants save for a handful of survivors, yet for some reason he also schemes to destroy Hoshido and Nohr even though these nations and their people had nothing to do with Anankos's downfall. I know there's a popular theory that says that Anankos is the Dawn and Dusk Dragon but this DLC, which ostensibly is all about Anankos's backstory, never makes any references to the other First Dragons. As for as the rest of Fateslandia is concerend Anankos is an outside-context-villain who shows up from out of nowhere to destroy for a 'beytral' commited by humans from a pocket dimension.

Also, I find it kinda hilarious that the death of the previous King of Valla at the hands of Anankos is portrayed as a tragic bromance, yet the game never bothered to give Azura's father a name.
