I got dumped last night by a guy who had previously told me he really liked me and he thought I was amazingly kind and compassionate and understanding. he found out I support our democratically elected POTUS and told me that was a dealbreaker .I had just told him that despite me being fairly conservative, I didn't care if he was liberal and it didn't matter to me. And right after that he found out I support Trump, and boom, he got all shocked and offended and said this was a "dealbreaker".

Fortunately, because I'm not a liberal, sex'positive feminist, I had restricted all the interactions I had with him to just talking because I wanted to wait until I felt fully comfortable.

But I felt very surprised and glum and then hurt and then really pissed off at his sense of entitlement in wanting all this acceptance and understanding but refusing to give any.

I mean, he just got so contemptuous and upset and disgusted like he just found out some evil, dark secret about me that I should be ashamed of.
