FBI issues announcement CONTRADICTING Trump's claim that a winner MUST be declared on election night

This is NOT TRUE. THIS IS WHAT TRUMP WANTS PEOPLE TO THINK. THE ELECTION DAY IS NOT THE DAY THE BALLOTS NEED TO BE DECIDED.

Do you seriously think back in the days before phones and cable that we had the winner known on election day? NO! It literally would have been impossible. That's why the US has such a long time period between the vote and swearing in the new president, because historically it took time to find out the winner. Given how common mail in ballots will be this election the same thing will happen, it will take time. It will likely be an election month.

Mail in ballots will make this difficult and take longer, all mail votes need to be manually counted as well typically done by having a representative from each party view the ballots. That takes time, likely more than a single day for most areas. Trump is planning to try to prematurely claim victory as his supporters will vote in person and Democrats by mail giving the appearance that trump won. He already bought ads on Facebook claiming victory for election night. Do NOT fall for this trap.

As the actual people in charge of our election told trump, we do not throw out ballots in the US which is what would happen if this was enforced. We count them all and then decide a winner. There is absolutely positively zero reason the winner needs to be decided election night, not with months of interregnum until the new president gets sworn in.
