What exactly does that even mean? There are plenty of passionate people who endeavor to make changes every day, and they're getting fucking nowhere. Things are being done in complete fucking secrecy. What sort of legal and democratic process does this guy think he's talking about?

Civil disobedience? Jesus H. Christ... The people who secured this country's independence from Great Britain were said to have been committing treason...by the British government of course. There comes a point where being "disobedient" is not just the only the most effective recourse, it's the only one.
If you are fighting to strengthen a lawful society and democracy you cannot abandon the very virtues you seek to champion.

You aren't abandoning the virtues you seek to champion by acts of "civil disobedience" against a tyrannical government, you are championing them, in the purest way.
What are you fighting for if not lawfulness?
