Civil disobedience? Jesus H. Christ... The people who secured this country's independence from Great Britain were said to have been committing treason...by the British government of course. There comes a point where being "disobedient" is not just the only the most effective recourse, it's the only one.

If you are fighting to strengthen a lawful society and democracy you cannot abandon the very virtues you seek to champion.

You aren't abandoning the virtues you seek to champion by acts of "civil disobedience" against a tyrannical government, you are championing them, in the purest way.
