The FCC just announced its plan to slash net neutrality rules, allowing ISPs like Verizon to block apps, slow websites, and charge fees to control what you see & do online. They vote December 14th. Click here to learn more and see what you can do to help!

Let's all thank the group of people responsible for this, and the comments they upvote.

Net neutrality is some seriously stupid shit, pushed by people who really have no clue how the internet works and whose only concern is their 100s of gigs of Netflix data consumption not going up in price.

Anyone supporting this must believe that the government should be the deciding authority on the allocation of goods. In other words, they're communists. There is only one authority that has the ability to fairly allocate goods and that's you and I... in other words, the free market.

Bandwidth is a finite resource and like any other scarce commodity, price is the mechanism used to allocate it.

Want to actually solve the problem? It's easy. Just like everything else... get the government the hell out of the way. The only reason we see regional ISP monopolies and very few choices is due to government policy. Remove the barriers to entry. Just look at your horrible local utility franchises.

Supporters of Net Neutrality would have you believe that a problem caused by the government can be solved by more government. The only thing different here is that those of you who wouldn't fall for this bullshit in any other context somehow are now.
