Is it feasible to work 30 hrs/week from home on my own with a newborn and a crap ton of animals?

I'd say no, but I don't know how flexible or how demanding your job is. A simple way to look at it is to just do the math. 30 hours over 5 days is 6 hours a day. Your baby will need stimulation (and food and diaper changes) while awake, so you want most of those 6 hours to be during naps. A newborn sleeps a lot, but it's very scattered. At 3 months you'll hopefully have a regular nap schedule, though it likely won't add up to 6 hours. At 8 months or so, the baby will start napping less and will require even more of your attention.

Will your job allow you to work for 30 min here, 2 hours there, etc? Do you need to be able to concentrate regularly? Hopefully phone calls are very infrequent too.

Stay at home moms usually use nap time to do cleaning and cooking, though you can try to do a lot of that while baby wearing.

And a you mentioned, socializing for you and the baby is important. It will be hard to squeeze everything into your schedule while also battling sleep deprivation, the emotional roller coaster that is parenting, and caring for your animals. You can certainly try, but keep your expectations sane. Could balance it out with part time child care?
