Backstory:
On Tuesday May 9th vector was streaming PUG games with ethereal, didact, and others.
Just before the stream started there was a discussion in discord with Josh (lowkeydbjosh) about banning a hacker that had been causing some havoc. Josh replied that the hacker had been banned earlier that day and then jokingly said "vector is next to get the boot #YOLO"
As the stream was going on the playful discussion continued in discord, and Josh eventually said "How awesome would it be if i banned vector right now mid-stream". Which caused the chat to go wild.
Vector got word and straight up said in discord "do it @Lowkeydbjosh", who replied "ban incoming".
Within seconds it was done and seen right here on the stream.
The minimum time for a ban is 1 hour. Josh unbanned vector and then went home from work. Vector waited until the hour was up to rejoin online games.
However, at the end of the hour vector could queue for online matches but the matchmaking would never find him a game. It turns out something in the backend systems went very wrong in the unbanning process.
Vector remains banned to this day, stuck in purgatory matchmaking with only other banned users as Respawn troubleshot their systems and consulted with fairfight. They found the exact issue a little over a week later but it required a full game update to fix. That update is Monarch Reigns which comes out on the 30th.
Respawn apologized for the holdup and vector understands. Respawn is sending him a swag pack IRL and is also unlocking the 2 Legion Nose Arts for him that never dropped because they were bugged. (he can otherwise no longer get nose arts on his gen100 Legion)
