It's not a coincidence that Canada has been relatively safe from Far-Right and Far-Left parties as First Past the Post and Canada's Multiculturalism makes it very difficult for Populists to get votes. First Past the Post players Gatekeeper similar to Frances Two Election system which keeps extremists out of office.

Since Mixed member is based on coalitions as well the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party would be likely coalition partners. It's a lot easier to accomodate the Conservatives as compared to the NDP (Favouring the Oil Industry over Environmental policy, engaging in Right Wing Economics over Left Wing Economics.)
