The Federation being somewhat isolationist in Picard is not dystopic. Please quite the hyperbole.

I just think the older stuff was better and more effective at getting its message across and would like Trek to return to that.

Well, you wouldn't know since you claim to have only seen one season of DIS and believed a Short Trek was DIS.

If you think this is the kind of stuff Gene would have made, I have a bridge in Alaska to sell you.

I think Gene's stuff is too woke for you.

Besides, Netflix and Amazon wouldn't have pulled out of international distribution

More lies. "International" means a lot of things -- meaning "any national jurisdiction outside of the US". Here in Canada, both Discovery and Picard is distributed by Bell Media, shown on broadcast television and streamed on Crave TV. For other jurisdictions, Netflix streams Discovery and Amazon streams Picard.

and Hasbro and the like would be making more toys

Discovery is a series for mature audiences, so it's unlikely they'd be making many toys for it. Hence, toys is a bad indicator for the popularity of a series for mature audiences. Your average 30-year-old doesn't buy them. I mean, there's a few collectables but that's a different matter from toys.

On the other hand, there's quite a few Discovery novels and comic books that have been published within the past year.

Interestingly, Picard has been picked up on Amazon international, while Discovery is not

That's because Discovery has largely been picked up on Netflix internationally.

so it seems that Amazon doesn't view Discovery as worth it while it's hoping that Picard is

Or it can mean that they both initially bid on Discovery and Netflix won out.

In my opinion, the danger with Picard is that if it's too different from TNG, then a lot of the audience will tune out just as happened with both Discovery and Star Wars.

Your opinion lacks credibility because you cannot demonstrate that "the audience" is tuning out. Maybe you can link to another YouTube talking head with "inside sources" but we know how that goes. They've been wrong too many times.

This lines up with the investor calls for CBS I've listened in on as I own stock with them.

Are you sure you own stock in CBS?

Either way, cite those investor calls since they tend to have a transcript. Don't send me a spec article since that's quite different from an investor call. Send me the actual transcript.
