I feel my DM made a very unfair and unfun creature/encounter.

Something I should've mentioned is this isn't a campaign with 8 players every sessions. It's an online group of ~15 people there's usually 4-6 players per session. The majority of the adventures happen as oneshots, but it's all in the same world so they share geography, some NPCs, etc. and the players can use their character on any canon adventure.

About the fight being fair/unfair, another comment made a good rules based analysis of my points and I think he was right on. I think it's very cool to have difficult fights and enemies with a lot of resources, but when it's not as great when they start breaking rules like having infinite reactions or using PCs as shields while adding its own rolls so they always get hit or when the DM decides to hide his rolls for this particular fight.

Anyway, I think I'm mostly repeating myself and not adding anything new but just wanted to give you a reply.

I'll definitely give feedback to my DM. He might disagree but I don't think it'll be any problem at all.
