I feel sad about being gluten free.

I now take gluten enzymes when I eat at restaurants that I don’t think are fully legit GF. They do work and I highly recommend. Iv also noticed how odd and defensive people act sometimes and it’s really awkward and makes me somehow feel ashamed. I went into a fast casual restaurant in a city I was visiting and looked at the menu. It did not have and gf notation so just said “which of your items are gf” And the person responded “none of them!” And then went on this long defensive explanation of why they didn’t have anything gf and that they are working on it. I didn’t ask, nor did I even argue with, and was actively trying to leave the restaurant. These kinds of interactions happen all the time tho. Or when people say “are you actually gluten free? Because if you are then you probably shouldn’t eat here”. That’s the shit I’m tired of. It makes me somehow feel like my food necessity is a burden for them!!!
