I would discourage you from divorcing him. His not physically abusive. It appears that he is a little overbearing but he really does care for your safety.

Talk to your father and let him know what is going on. He may be able to talk to your husband and soften his heart.

As for you lacking ambition and direction, I would suggest having a child. It's the best thing you will ever do in your life no matter how much education or high of a career you may have had.

You have a good husband who appears to care for you deeply and truely wants to provide a good life for you. He also wants to enter Jannah with you, and it appear he want a very high level of Jannah for both of you. Nothing wrong with that as you will be there for eternity.

Talk to your husband when he is in a calm and good mood about your feelings. Atleast give him a chance to improve. Let him know that you are miserable and thinking of divorce. Talk it out and in the worst case you do get divorced then atleast you both can settle this on good terms. Although, I don't think divorce is the solution in your case.
