I don't see how invalidating the OP and downplaying her experience is helpful in any way. Isn't the point of this sub supposed to be safe space for sharing these kinds of things?

I look visibly different, I deal with this shit all the time and I can smell it coming a mile away. It's unpleasant. It's also predictable. Sounds like OP knows when it's coming, too.

Also, comparing people's ethnicities to spices, also implying that if you "like one" you want to "know what it is" because it helps you understand "you like them all" comes loaded with a lot of objectifying, stereotyping, and generalizing. Gross.
