feeling pretty burnt out. need advice.

This definitely relates to my situation as well. I always focused on maintaining a perfect GPA, being active on campus, hitting the gym, etc. However, I'm definitely starting to get burned out. Always being at home except for the weekend drive/walk (or occasional bike ride) is definitely getting to my head (I want to wake up from this nightmare). It's perfectly normal to feel such loss of motivation. However, let me throw a question at you that has helped me get motivated again: What is your goal in studying Computer Science?

Essentially, what is your plan after you finish the program? Is there anything special or particular you want to do with it? For me, I want to develop an advanced military simulator and work for companies that specialize in this area (e.g. VBS3, Titan IM, etc.). So, when I stop and think about my Why, I remember the ultimate goal and get some of that motivation back. I don't care about the grades as much as the knowledge I'm acquiring. A college education, if done properly, means you actually learn and master a topic (it's almost like a job, but for studying and research). If other people want to get Cs and learn little to nothing, they're only hurting themselves.

So, now that you have a strategy for your Why, now you have to put it into action. The best way is to create a schedule. I cannot stress this enough. I find that when I don't create a schedule and just "do it when it's needed", I end up procrastinating and wasting far too much time. Days blend with nights :( Don't do that. Create a schedule with a series of items and time slots next to them (estimations really).

The passion is probably not going to be the same as before sadly. But, what defines us is our actions in these difficult moments. Just stay strong, this situation should end hopefully by next spring.
