feeling really upset and hopeless about teeth

I feel you.

Over the past year I've developed hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency and small intestine bacterial overgrowth (all confirmed with blood tests by my doctor).

Despite no changes to my diet or dental hygiene, I now need eight, yes eight, root canals - my x-rays from eighteen months ago showed no problems. My front teeth have become completely translucent and turned yellow, I have incredibly bad breath that no amount of brushing or flossing will fix, and my teeth are all razor sharp and cut the inside of my mouth.

The fact is, your teeth are a big reflection of internal health. The development of the aforementioned issues gave me chronic dry mouth, a suppressed immune system and bacterial/fungal overgrowth all over my body, and my teeth were destroyed as a result.

So, I understand how you feel. All people here tell you is that you're not brushing enough, eating too much sugar, etc, but when you've always brushed three times a day, flossed every night and avoided sugary / acidic food, that advice doesn't help or meaning anything.

I don't have any advice because I'm in the same situation myself with no money to fix any of it, but I hope you can find solace in the fact that you're not in this alone, or the only one suffering from these problems. I understand how tough this shit is, so if you ever need someone to vent to, feel free to shoot me a PM.

I hope you get a handle on this soon - try not to let it get you down too much :)
