A fellow server got hit tonight...

I'm glad this was reposted somewhere else to see not everyone is into the toxic tipping culture. Also, people deserve to experience nice things when times are tough. That's like saying because you're broke most of the year you shouldn't be able to go out and buy something nice every now and then. I agree with what most people said over on the antiwork thread, which is that it should depend more on the service/time the server spent not the money spent. Someone used the example of if this person only spent an hour there and all the server did was pass a plate or 2, get some drinks, then $7 isn't so bad. Whereas at a diner where they might spend 4 hours getting refills on coffees and fries, the money spent was less but the time and serving the server did was more so the tip should be more there.
